AEDradar Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the AEDradar app, website and related services. AEDradar is an initiative of City AED B.V. By using the service, you agree to these terms. Do not use it if you do not agree.

2. Purpose and nature of AEDradar

AEDradar is a public information service that lets users search for AED locations, initiate an emergency call through their device, access CPR support and add, edit or claim AED listings. AEDradar is not an emergency service, dispatch centre, healthcare provider, medical device, substitute for professional help or replacement for the official Dutch community-responder system.

3. No guarantee about AED information

AED information may come from public sources, owners, custodians, users and other third parties. City AED B.V. does not continuously verify every listing and does not guarantee that information is accurate, complete, current or fit for use. This expressly includes an AED’s displayed location, distance, route, status, accessibility, opening hours, access, cabinet code, presence, availability, maintenance condition and operation.

An AED may have been moved, removed, locked, damaged, serviced, already in use or otherwise unavailable. Map and location information may be inaccurate. Assess the situation on site, follow emergency-service instructions and do not choose a course of action solely on the basis of the app.

4. Emergency action

• Call 112 or the local emergency number immediately if cardiac arrest is suspected.
• Use speakerphone and follow the dispatcher.
• If possible, send a bystander to retrieve an AED.
• Follow the spoken and visual instructions of the AED and professional responders.

CPR information in AEDradar is general support, not a personal medical assessment or substitute for certified training.

5. Accounts

You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and promptly report suspected misuse. You are responsible for actions through your account to the extent reasonably attributable to you. We may request verification when an AED is claimed and may reject, withdraw or transfer a claim when the information is insufficient or incorrect.

6. User contributions

You may submit only information you reasonably believe is accurate and have the right to provide. Do not submit misleading, unlawful, abusive or dangerous content, another person’s personal data, secret access codes or material that infringes third-party rights. By submitting content, you grant City AED B.V. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, use, reproduce, adapt and publish it to operate, secure and improve AEDradar.

We may investigate, correct, combine, reject or remove contributions but are not required to pre-screen or continuously monitor every contribution. Report errors through contact@aedradar.org or an available reporting function.

7. Acceptable use

You must not misuse AEDradar, bypass security, gain unauthorised access, scrape data at scale, distribute malicious code, disrupt operation, submit false emergency information or use the service unlawfully. Reasonable personal and organisational use for public safety is permitted.

8. Intellectual property

AEDradar, its software, design, trademarks, texts and other elements belong to City AED B.V. or its licensors. You receive a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the service under these terms. You retain rights in your own contribution, subject to the licence above.

9. Third-party services and app stores

AEDradar may use third-party maps, routing, telephony, hosting and other services. We are not responsible for third-party services or availability. Their terms may additionally apply. Downloads through Apple are also subject to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement unless another valid EULA is offered. Google Play’s applicable terms also apply to Android downloads. Mandatory app-store terms prevail where required.

10. Availability, changes and termination

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent availability. We may modify, maintain, suspend or discontinue functions subject to applicable consumer rights. We may restrict access for abuse, security risks or breach of these terms. You may stop using AEDradar and request account deletion.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, City AED B.V. is not liable for loss arising from or relating to inaccurate, incomplete or outdated content; an incorrect AED status, availability or location; inability to find, reach or use an AED; map, route, network, device or location errors; third-party contributions; or use contrary to these terms or emergency-service instructions.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under mandatory Dutch law, including liability for intent or deliberate recklessness by City AED B.V. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. By using AEDradar, you acknowledge that the policy was available to you.

13. Changes

We may update these terms because of changes to the service, law or security requirements. The current version appears on this page. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes where possible. Continued use after the effective date means the revised terms apply, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law and disputes are submitted to the competent Dutch court. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you retain any mandatory consumer-law protection and competent forum that cannot be contractually excluded under applicable international law.
